Their later influences widened the contrast further: Duprez absorbed the atmosphere and ensemble dynamics of acts such as Pink Floyd, Yes, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan and The Band, finding particular inspiration in rhythm-section musicians such as Chris Squire, Bernard Purdie and Mark Sandman’s unconventional work with Morphine; Duckworth’s path ran through Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page before Pat Metheny became a defining influence.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe same pattern of resemblance and opposition runs through the musicians themselves. Although they share closely related neurodivergent experiences, these are expressed in markedly different ways: Duprez can appear outwardly extroverted, confidently commanding a room and speaking freely onstage, while his melodic playing is measured, economical and centred on emotional weight; Duckworth is more cautious and reserved away from the stage, but becomes technically fearless, expansive and intensely expressive once he begins to play.
